Life after trafficking: reintegration experiences of human trafficking survivors in Nigeria

Purpose Reintegration programs have emerged as part of the regimes care for survivors human trafficking. However, empirical analysis reintegration outcomes remains limited in African context. Hence, this paper aims to examine challenges and opportunities assistance trafficking Nigeria. Design/methodology/approach Drawing on qualitative methods data collection analysis, study conducted semi-structured interviews with repatriated women who accessed Nigeria, was analyzed using thematic analysis. Findings The findings suggest that while might address procedural aspect reintegration, achievement substantive incomplete. This is because structural conditions context within which supposed occur. Practical implications There a need take seriously distinction between into new community or former design regime Africa. Crucially, focus should not also divert attention away from reforms needed ensure achieve reintegration.
